*Data package allowances are (peak/off-peak) with peak hours being defined as 7am-7pm Monday to Friday. Off-peak access is not restricted and standard best efforts access and contentions will apply. During Peak hour's active traffic management will be active to ensure that all time sensitive applications take priority over non-essential services to provide maximum quality of service to all users.

Data Packages - Explained

The amount of data used on your connection reflects the amount of network capacity that will be required to serve you that content. Here at IC we believe in high quality services therefore our connections are sold based on usage to ensure that there is sufficient network capacity to serve all our users, and after all it is only fair that everyone pays for what they use...

What does 3GB download per month allow me to do?
  • 15,000 Email's (average 10KB each) &
  • 75 High resolution Photo's (at 10MB each) &
  • 40 Music Tracks (average 4MB each) &
  • 1 Full length Feature film in standard definition
  • Plus still have some capacity left over ....

All of the above could be sent / recieved in a month within the 3GB limit, the next usage profile is 10 times this size. For reference (from our usage statistics) a standard single office user browsing the Internet, performing computer updates, answering emails etc... would use about 2GB per month.

Light & Single User Use
Ideal for the non-essential sites where Internet access is required occasionally, you get best efforts Internet access and a single static IP address.

Upload speeds on standard ADSL connections for light are up to 448Kb/s depending upon line quality and distance from the exchange.

Office Use
For the more discerning users this connection provides an elevated best efforts Internet access which means that your requests will not only get a 50% access improvement but your traffic will take priority over the standard access. You also have the addition of Advanced IP Services, this includes multiple IP addresses, SMTP feeds and many more.

Additional IP addresses are available to add to the order or once ordered, and changeable during the course of service, the available IPs will operate on the next available block to equal your request and routed to your original static IP assigned to the connection.

Upload speeds for Office are up to 832Kb/s for standard ADSL and up to 1Mb/s for ADSL2+ services (this will increase to up to 2.5Mb/s with the launch of Annex M) depending upon line quality and distance from the exchange.

Standard Care
Best endeavours response time with a 40 hour fault clear time during working hours Monday - Friday only

Enhanced Care
3 Hour response to fault and a 20 hour fault clear time, working days include Saturday Morning for fault reporting but fix time includes weekends.

On the new 21CN platform you have the ability to fine tune your connection to provide you with the exact performance level required.

Best Speed - Your line will be measured and the highest possible speed will be provided to you but should the lines quality vary due to external conditions (weather, interference etc..) then your connection will retrain at an appropriate speed to keep your data flowing at the best speed possible. The retraining process causes a temporary traffic interruption thus this is not suitable for connections requiring constant data flows.

Stable - When you want a compromise between speed and constant data flows then this option is ideal.

Super Stable - If you are on a longer line or have very time sensitive applications (i.e. VoIP) then this option will provide the best speed but with a larger margin allowance for line speed fluctuations. The result is a line that should rarely need to retrain but the sacrifice will be the maximum burst speed will be reduced.
