21CN National Ethernet Network
Connect your site(s) to the next generation national backbone and benefit from
high capacity, high stability, simple network connections.
With over 600 access points in the UK alone this is one of the most accessible
networks and more of your sites can plug directly into the central backbone
locally thus keeping your costs down.
Based on 21CN with an MPLS network core you can expect 99.93% or greater uptime,
<10ms one way latency and a jitter of <3ms*
With 2Mb/s Leased Line equivalent services from only £349 per month (1:1 Direct
Internet Access) and 10Mb/s circuits from only £549 per month the new network
represents great value for money and could save your company thousands of pounds
per annum versus the older generation Leased Lines.

generation.

Ethernet Connect - Overview
Connect your site(s) to the next generation national backbone at one of the 600+
(and growing) 21CN enabled telephone exchanges via...
- Copper* (up to 10Mb/s max.)
- Microwave+ (up to 34Mb/s max.)
- Fibre (10Mb/s, 100Mb/s & 1Gb/s)
Once connected to the core network then 'virtual' circuit can be created from
the site across the network to your desired destinations which could include
Internet Access / Transit.
Even if your site is not on one of the 21CN exchanges yet, the fibre connections
can still be used providing you have fibre capability at your site and you are
within 25Km of an enabled exchange.
*Copper access is delivered by EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) and speed is
subject to distance and is only available if your site is directly connected to
an active exchange. This product replaces SDSL access.
+Microwave connections to the network are via IC-air and is only available in
select locations.

Ethernet Connect - Internet Access
You have your site connection to the backbone at say 100Mb/s fibre so now you
could choose to have a 'virtual' circuit through the network at for example
10Mb/s standard service to our Internet Access point.
This would now provide you with upto 10Mb/s symmetric Internet access for your
site and you can increase your speed in as little as 24 hours up to the maximum
of your physical circuit.
Connectivity choices are:-
- Standard Access (5:1 Contention)
- Premium Access (Uncontended)

Ethernet Connect - Inter/Multi site
Just as you can create a 'virtual' circuit for Internet Access you could create
a circuit to another connected site (remote office).
You choose the desired capacity between the sites required (up to the maximum
physical circuit) and the networks will become joined at layer 2 (just like
linking 2 switches together with an Ethernet cable).
Connectivity choices are:-
- Standard Access (5:1 Contention)
- Premium Access (Uncontended)
Because you have a single connection to the network at local reach the costs are
kept low for very high capacity, then you buy what you need in central network
capacity to whichever sites you require and can scale this up quickly.
Example: You could have several sites connected together, sharing files and
network resources. Your telephony could also be linked over all the sites (VoIP
based telephony systems) and you could have a consolidated network
infrastructure. Then you could add Internet Access to the network centrally for
security / monitoring and to finish off perhaps a centralised 'virtual' server
from a connected datacentre.
